Lending an ear to market signals

Dear clients, friends, and valued contacts,

Again, just before many of us will enjoy a summer holiday, I am happy to send you our summer e-zine. Giving you inspiration, market developments, and some updates from CED. As always, we are ‘on the move’ and willing to share our knowledge, which is important to you, our valued clients, expecting this from us in a rapidly changing market. The CED Group is a big European service and solution provider, constantly strengthening its position with new innovative solutions. All our claims solutions, national and international, are growing. Therefore, in this e-zine, we are excited to share with you a broader perspective on how CED Claims is filling the needs of the market of claims handling, national and international.

Bigger footprint in DACH region

Perhaps you have already heard or read it somewhere: last Spring, CED Group and the German Fair Damage Group joined forces. Fair Damage Group is a powerful and innovative market party in Germany, with multiple labels, 100+ clients, and more than 700 partners throughout the country. The company is very successful in sustainable damage repair of windows and doors, and with a unique (remote) value proposition for expertise and repair of electronic devices.

Fair Damage Group helps improve our European profile. Germany is now the fifth ‘core country’ of CED, in addition to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Spain. Moreover, we share our focus on customer-oriented and innovative work. We want to roll out best practices and smart innovations easily from one country to the next through the innovative IT department of Fair Damage Group and that of CED Group. And it benefits CED Cross Border Claims specifically that we can increase our footprint in Germany through this collaboration. This way, we can provide even better and more personal services to our customers in the whole of the DACH region.

Growth in innovation

In this e-zine, you will find an article about the necessary ‘rewiring’ of the claims process to turn claims into a strategic formula of success when it comes to cost management and customer experience. AI, data, and human expertise are key therein. CED Claims and CED Cross Border Claims are ready. By listening well to the market, we develop promising new value propositions. Such as flexible bespoke solutions for the claims handling process. Or successful recourse which easily leads to minimising the damage burden. Always with the support of our Claims Operations Centers. Additionally, we are growing as a tech-enabled solution partner in technological and digital innovations. Last Spring, we launched our fully renewed Athos platform, which also provides opportunities for the integration of Artificial Intelligence. Which successes CED has already had with that, can be read further in this magazine.

Summer and other trends

But first, we have the long-awaited summer! Research by a Dutch institute of traffic safety showed that the number of traffic accidents increases with an increase in temperature. Because people are slower due to the heat, and can’t respond quite as quickly. This is not only the case in the Netherlands. This institute states that the chance of personal injury at high temperatures is 20 percent higher in China, 12 percent higher in Italy, and 3.4 percent higher in the US. And we will of course have to consider an increasing number of climate-related damages, such as the recent wildfires in the south of France and the north of Spain, or floods like last few summers. The Red Cross even warns travellers to prepare for possible ‘natural disasters’.

Always a solution

Of course, we hope that everyone has a superb, sunny, and safe summer. But if it doesn’t go as planned: we are ready! Whether it is about cross-border claims, claims handling, recourse, or other links in the claims chain. Feel free to get in touch with us if we can help you even more. With all our people, systems, services, and flexibility, we are prepared for what this summer and the time after may bring.

For now, we trust you will enjoy this e-zine and wish you, on behalf of our entire team, a happy summertime!

Warm greetings, Karin Korstanje Managing Director CED Claims
