The Belgium Belfius is a major player in the insurance market. The expertise departments of CED in Belgium have been doing damage assessments for the Mobility and Property files of this insurer for some time now. From January 2025, CED CBC will also handle the cross-border claims files. This means significant growth for the CBC teams in all countries! ‘Belfius was looking for innovation and challenge. And we found it in the entrepreneurship and proactivity of CED’, says Stefanie Maes, Manager Partnership and Expert Support at Belfius.
With around 3,8 million customers, Belfius is the second largest insurance company in Belgium. This means that no less than 30 percent of the Belgians are Belfius customers. ‘We are constantly looking for innovation and challenge with our partners’, tells Maes. ‘That is why we regularly conduct market research. Now we were looking for a partner for the best cross-border claims handling. For this, we send 3 parties a request for proposal (RFP), including CED. With a proactive approach to claims management, they managed to convince us. Their process follow-up is hands-on and ties in with what we expect from a partner. Moreover, CED's entrepreneurial spirit fits in well with what we at Belfius understand by that: drive, goal-oriented, seeing opportunities, and daring to take new paths. And of course, we already have a long-term relationship with CED in the area of expertise to our complete satisfaction.'
Proactive preparations
Starting 2025 the CED CBC teams in the various European countries can expect around 4,000 Belfius files per year, including mobility, injury, and liability files. ‘CBC is also showing itself to be extremely professional and proactive in the preparations for this ‘go-live’’, says Yasmin Zarzouri, Partnership Manager at Belfius Insurance and responsible for the implementation of this project. ‘It is great that CED was able to meet our request for a single point of contact straight away. Together we thoroughly reviewed the process flow, mutual expectations, and IT requirements. During the first months, CED will work side by side with our old partner to properly handle the current files.’
High expectations
‘We expect that CED CBC continues to focus on innovation and challenges’, Maes concludes. ’And that they proactively involve us in their experiences, in signaling trends or optimization opportunities. For us, it is essential that CED can continue to develop and respond to the needs of the market. And, that our collaboration grows along with this, for example by deploying more video expertise. We also keep a close eye on the insurance market ourselves, with a strong focus on digitalization and automation to serve our customers optimally. In banking, we as Belfius are already a forerunner when it comes to digitalization. The same ambitions we have for our insurance activities. In this way, together with CED CBC, we want to continue to look ahead and take a leading role in the market.’
